Today was all about showing up. I have a bum knee and really did not “feel” like going to class. Miss Devyn continues to grow in confidence and as a partner in our classes. She is really enjoying getting to hang out in her crate and watch the other dogs working while we wait for our class. Today Devyn had another great day at class. She is getting very comfortable in the building waiting for her class and has much more confidence running in the ring. I am able to maneuver around the building and into the ring as needed without her reacting to anything. Here we are doing a little training with Devyn on the teeter and weaves. I am hearing that Devyn will not weave in her private classes and that it is assumed that she does not know how to weave. Today we started the 1-2-3-Break Game. This game is designed to build excitement with self-control at the start line. We are hopeful that soon this game will transfer for Devyn to the agility ring. This would allow us to take her off leash and practice a lead out before playing tug. MeiLi has always enjoyed tugging. She will tug with the other dogs or with us. Today was another rough day for doing videos as Kristen spent the day at a CPE Agility trial and I am judging an AKC trial. Devyn had a good day at agility doing some more tugging as training in the ring. MeiLi is on the road hanging out with Dad while he judges followed by the drive home. MeiLi was very excited to do some equipment. This is one of the first times I have done either dog at 16″. I need to remember she is a baby dog and has a bigger stride.
